Exciting News: Renovations Have Begun at the St. Joseph School of Nursing!

October 8th, 2024

In 2023, St. Joseph School of Nursing was awarded a $2.9 million congressional discretionary grant to make multiple, necessary upgrades to our campus, and after thorough planning and preparation, construction is now underway! The renovation project will be completed in four phases:

  • Phase 1: Renovations of the South Wing, encompassing both the first and second floors, which are primarily faculty offices.
  • Phase 2: Work on the East Wing, including both floors, will focus on administrative and faculty offices, the faculty lounge, and student lounge.
  • Phase 3: Updates to the auditorium, computer room, and student study areas on the first floor.
  • Phase 4: Renovations to classrooms A and B, along with the simulation lab and skills lab.

The entire project is expected to take approximately 7 to 8 months. One of the most exciting aspects is the addition of heat-pump technology, enabling central air conditioning throughout the building. The auditorium will also undergo a complete transformation, creating a lecture hall environment with tables and chairs featuring charging ports for students, as well as a new AV system.

While the renovation process may cause some temporary inconvenience, it’s a fantastic opportunity to create a more comfortable and modern environment for our students. During construction, current students will be utilizing classroom space within the main hospital, conveniently located next door.

We are also deeply thankful to the Keagan Family Foundation for their generous donation supporting the auditorium renovation.

Stay tuned for more updates as the project progresses!
