I began a program at another school a few years back but never finished. Will I have to start over?
Most people in this situation do not have to start over. You can learn about our credit transfer policy by clicking here, but the best way to find out is to contact our Registrar’s Office – they are our expert on this subject.

Why aren’t nursing course credits from other schools recognized by St. Joseph?
The primary reasons we do not allow nursing course credits from other institutions to be transferred include: curriculum differences and school-to-school variation in accreditation standards, clinical hour requirement and quality controls.

Will the credits I earn at St. Joseph School of Nursing count toward a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in nursing someplace else?
The decision to allow the transfer of credits rests with the accepting institution. It is always wise to check with their admissions office in advance.

  • St. Joseph School of Nursing is accredited by ACCSC, and the nursing program is accredited by ACEN. These accreditations help support the transfer of credits.
  • Frequently credits are accepted between accredited institutions as long as the course is equivalent.
  • For example, if you have taken a 3-credit English course and the accepting institution requires a 4-credit English course, it might not be transferable.

Does St. Joseph School of Nursing have affiliation agreements with any schools that would make continuing my education easier after I graduate from St. Joseph School of Nursing?
Yes, St. Joseph School of Nursing has affiliation agreements with the following schools:

  • Southern NH University
  • Rivier University
  • Franklin Pierce University
